Aileen O’Hare is a pharmacy leader with over 20 years of experience in acute NHS teaching hospitals, community trusts, and arm’s length bodies (ALBs) in London. She is currently a senior clinical advisor and inspector for the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and is also a Churchill Fellow.

At King’s College Hospital NHS foundation trust, O’Hare has led clinical pharmacy teams as a deputy chief pharmacist and collaborated with divisional teams on trust wide drug expenditure reporting.

She has specialised clinical knowledge in women’s and children’s services and has managed divisional operations, outsourced pharmacy capacity planning, and NHS commissioning projects.

She also reflects on a memorable patient encounter that emphasizes the human side of healthcare, discusses her career progression from hospital to regulatory roles, and introduces the Churchill Fellowship as a transformative opportunity for learning and growth. Aileen also offers valuable advice for aspiring pharmacists, encouraging them to embrace every layer of their career and find their passion in the profession.
