Pharmacy in Person with Hélio Fazenda
Hélio Fazenda started as a community pharmacy technician in Portugal for several years, before moving to the UK in 2014. Since then, he has been specialising in aseptic services, through operational and quality roles and in various contexts such as pharma, medical devices and hospital aseptic units.
At the time of recording, Fazenda was the King’s College Hospital aseptic services chief pharmacy technician, and a keen member of regional and national aseptic services working groups. He now works for the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service as a senior regional pharmacy QA specialist for London and South East.
In this podcast, Fazenda chats about the pharmacy technician degree he completed and the differences between the roles and career landscape of pharmacy in Portugal and the UK.
He shares his experiences from patient services and homecare to working under commercial pressure in pharma, and says what motivates him in his roles and the advice he'd give his younger self.
