The Royal College of Pharmacy (RCPharm) has appointed its first 34 members as fellows of the College. 

It said the appointments are "based on nominations from members", recognising those who "have attained distinction in one or more aspects of their pharmacy career". 

"Fellowship is one of the highest honours awarded by the College," it added.

While the RCPharm currently has 836 fellows, these were all appointed before the official transition from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) to RCPharm in April.  

"The first group of fellows represents a significant milestone for the College and celebrates excellence, leadership and contribution across the profession," RCPharm said.

It comes after the RCPharm celebrated a 92% pass rate in advanced credentialing last month.  

And it follows the official transition from the RPS to RCPharm in April.
