Uber offers free rides and meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to NHS and HSC staff
Uber is offering £30 worth of free rides and meals for UK health staff working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it confirmed to C+D last week (December 13).
Those who have an NHS or HSC (Northern Ireland) email address ending in nhs.uk, nhs.scot, nhs.net, nhs.co.uk or hscni.net can “claim two £10 Uber rides to get to and from work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day” and a “£10 Uber Eats voucher for a meal or grocery delivery to make the holidays a little brighter”.
It’s the eight year the Christmas rides and meals campaign has run to support staff who “selflessly care for us during the festive period” and are “everyday heroes”, an Uber press release says.

Uber UK general manager Andrew Brem thanked NHS staff who are “often putting others’ needs ahead of their own”.
“This initiative is our way of expressing heartfelt thanks and making their holiday season a bit more manageable. By providing complimentary rides and meals, we hope to support these heroes as they continue to care for the ones we love,” he added.
The taxi and food delivery service said eligible staff need to ensure their NHS or HSC email address is linked to their Uber account “by 23:59 on 20 December” and they will receive promo codes via email to redeem on December 24 and 25.
