What are your thoughts on pharmacy supervision?
Whilst it is a legal requirement to do so, it's a moot point, in my opinion.
If it wasn't a legal requirement, I imagine most would say it is a bad idea for the simple reason of who is accountable and is that accountability reasonable?
Given the lack of clarity on definition, its difficult to comment , but as a bare minimum, Ther must be a Pharmacist present to oversee sales and dispensing, and, they should be ACTIVELY overseeing counter sales. Either this is worth doing in which case it needs doing well, or it isnt and the otc meds can all go to corner shops.
Dispensing needs Pharmacist input and presence, not entirely sure it needs to be actually done by a Pharmacist for repeat medication, new meds/patients need clinical checks.
