‘Ambitious, positive and community-driven’: Pharmacy sponsoring Everest Army Cadet trek
Wainwrights Chemist superintendent Sultan ‘Sid’ Dajani is sponsoring Wylie’s next challenge ‘Xtreme Everest – Dead Sea to Death Zone’ which will take place in April 2028.
The expedition will also be raising funds for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust (ACCT). Dajani said it’s “a privilege” to support Wylie on his adventure and raise money for “a great cause”.
The journey will see Wylie start his trek from the Dead Sea to Kathmandu. There, he will be joined by 10 Army Cadets who he will lead from there on a fully funded trek to Everest Base Camp to “help shape the next generation of cadet leaders”.

“The overarching ambition is to ensure that successful applicants are able to participate without personal financial barriers preventing the opportunity, so people are going based on ability, not affordability,” Dajani told C+D.
“This is the first time he’s taking people with him. The main event happens in 2028 but he's already starting to train both low and high altitude, in the heat and cold.”

Wainwrights Chemist is one of the sponsors funding the trip, with the sponsorship partly funding a videographer to follow Wylie’s preparation over the next two years.
He said it will also give pharmacy “more publicity” as “everyone thinks of doctors and nurses as the only healthcare professionals”.
“Supporting something that is ambitious, positive and community-driven aligns perfectly with both my own values and those of Wainwrights Chemist,” he added.
Dajani will be doing clinical checks during Wylie’s training too, advising him on what vaccines, medicines, cleansing gear, and tablets for malaria and altitude sickness he will need ahead of his expedition.
“This expedition is not simply about climbing a mountain — it is about resilience, leadership, personal growth, opportunity and proving to young people that perceived limitations do not always define outcomes,” Dajani said.

“If even one participant comes away believing more in themselves and their future, then that alone makes it worthwhile.”
The applications to be one of the 10 Army Cadets going on the funded trip open on June 1.
Those eligible need to be aged 16 by the time of the trek in April 2028, have been an Army Cadet for one year, be a 1 Star Cadet, and have support from their parents and their detachment commander.
Antarctica
Dajani is continuing to support the adventurer following his previous sponsorship of Wylie’s ‘Antarctic Odyssey’ when he gave him a health check before he set off on his trip.
He completed his trek to the Geographic South Pole in December, raising £67,586.25 for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust (ACCT) from the expedition.

Wylie is a former soldier turned adventurer, known from appearances on Channel 4’s Hunted and Celebrity Hunted TV shows as well as his book Citadel about his story protecting a ship from Somali pirates.
He has been one of the Army Cadet’s national ambassadors since 2018 and has fundraised over one million pounds for charitable causes which led to his MBE award in 2023 for voluntary services to charity and children’s education.
