Much was at stake in this year's match, made extra special by guest of honour Mushtaq 'Mushy' Mohammed, the former Pakistan international, who was lined up as guest of honour and to present the awards.

Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, the Contractors, led by Ravi Nagra of MSN Pharmacy Group saw Suppliers, led by Seb Miles of RxBridge, post 179 for the loss of 10 wickets from their 30 overs. Sohail Mohammed and Jon Board top-scored for the Suppliers with knocks of 25 and 26 respectively, both retiring, while David Ward (12), Kevin Corey (13) and James Crampton (12), all chipped in down the order. The wickets were shared amongst 8 bowlers with Nav Matharu and Peter Cattee the stand-out performers, with 2 a piece, and the highlight of the innings being Henry Greggs acrobatic diving catch to dismiss Luke Daniels.

In reply, the Contractors started fast and kept ahead of the run rate, reaching their target in the 29th over. Guriqbal Randhawa (25 retired not out) and Jainil Patel (27 retired not out) laid a solid platform at the top of the order, while Joe Cattee's innings of 25 not out, capped a strong all-round display that saw him claim the Player of the Match award for the Contractors. Amar Nagra also chipped in with 18 in the chase with it left to Henry Gregg and Sumeet Randhawa to get the Contractors over the line. Some fine bowling performances for the Suppliers saw then nearly rein the Contractors in, a fiery spell from each of Ikram Malik and Ula Zalek-Zadlo, plus 2 wickets a piece for David Ward and Jon Board (who together with his runs picked up the Suppliers Player of the Match Award) but the depth of the Contractors batting line up was enough to get them home.

As ever, the fixture proved to be as much about bringing together the pharmacy community as the cricket. Now an established date in the calendar, the day brought together a broad spectrum of the pharmacy community – owner operators to large independent groups, and all that service the sector for a relaxed afternoon, away from the usual work setting.  and the friendly rivalry between bat and ball has become as much a part of the occasion as the conversations happening on the boundary. C+D's Nana Ofori-Atta was making his debut in the fixture, and MSN Pharmacy Group and RxBridge are already looking ahead to next year where the Suppliers will hope to exact revenge, with honours currently even, at 1-1.
