Pharmacist ACTNow campaign returns with eight wellbeing areas
Pharmacist Support will relaunch its wellbeing campaign next month to encourage pharmacists to “take positive action for their mental health and wellbeing”.
The Pharmacist ACTNow campaign will take place from November 2 to 15 and the Pharmacists’ Defence Association and Orion Pharma are sponsoring the campaign to make the wellbeing support free for pharmacists.
Along with digital resources, interactive activities and the charity’s A Dose of Wellbeing podcasts, Pharmacist Support is launching a new wellbeing initiative inspired by the New Economic Foundation’s Five Ways to Wellbeing.

The Essential Eight: Your Script for Wellbeing includes eight evidence-based areas of wellbeing to support pharmacists, which are to “connect, be active, be present, keep learning, give, sleep well, eat well and build financial wellbeing”.
Pharmacist Support wellbeing development senior manager Melissa Cochrane said the campaign is a reminder for pharmacy teams that “their wellbeing matters” as they “spend so much time caring for others that their own wellbeing can easily take a back seat”.
“We want to give individuals and teams practical ways to take action, support one another and build healthier working environments,” she said.

ACTNow participants will also be able to see how the charity’s new employer scheme is encouraging employers to deliver mental health and wellbeing support in the workplace.
The campaign will give pharmacy professionals access to practical self-care tools, resources on positive team culture and communication, advice on managing stress, workload and resilience, and also wellbeing stories from the sector.

It comes after Pharmacist Support launched its annual Trainee ACTNow campaign in August to support those starting their foundation year with “free, practical mental health and wellbeing support”.
