Lincolnshire Co-op offers free flu jabs at the footy
The Lincolnshire Co-op is sending its pharmacy teams to the three Lincolnshire teams home games as part of an initiative for people to have “easier access to get their vaccination on a walk-in basis”.
The independent cooperatives senior community co-ordinator Andrew Bullivant said its success last year had seen “60 people receiving their flu jab during one match day at Lincoln City”.
“We had a successful day at Boston United this week, giving vaccinations to 30 people, and we’re looking forward to providing the service at Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United on Saturday 4th October,” he added.

Lincoln City said supporters from both sides can claim the free flu jab ahead of the game.
Fans are eligible if they are 65 and over, are pregnant, in long-stay residential care, receive a carer's allowance, live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection due to a weakened immune system, as well as those with certain health conditions such as heart, respiratory or neurological conditions.

It follows the Lincolnshire Co-op partnering with Boston United in May where they introduced a new wellbeing walk to support local health and fitness in the community, with over 50 people signing up to complete the regular walk.
Over 50 people have signed up to the regular walk as every Thursday lunchtime, they walk for an hour in the carpark by Boston United’s stadium and some players from the club join in if available.
Boston United’s football development officer Lewis Wright said the walk has had an “an incredible impact on the community” and gives an opportunity for the the fans to “integrate with the first team” too.
