If doctors approve treatment and medication is “appropriate”, prescriptions are then delivered to a patient’s home or can be collected from a Superdrug pharmacy.

Superdrug said Quviviq (daridorexant) and melatonin can be accessed through the service, as well as “guidance on improving sleep hygiene and managing long-term sleep issues”.

30 tablets of Quviviq at 25 and 50 mg are listed on Superdrug’s website at £84.99, while 30 tablets of melatonin at 2 mg are priced at £39.

Superdrug said the online insomnia service is “a convenient alternative to in-person GP appointments” for patients.
