As Paul said on ITV the contract is broken - to save more independent pharmacies from closure based on the EY survey we must have a radical re-think of the structure of CPCF and above all the payment & funding mechanisms that underpin it. Put simply if we wish to attract retain & motivate the new generation of IP Pharmacists and ensure the future sustainability of independent community pharmacy the current dispensing driven CPCF contract & funding model (which has been largely unchanged since the inception of the NHS) needs to be consigned to history.
