The month runs up until 17 August.

Cultural exhibitions, educational programs, performances, and discussions that highlight the impact of South Asians on British society, and vice versa.

Organisers say it offers a platform to address “challenges faced by these communities and to promote a deeper understanding of their heritage. It's a time for reflection, celebration, and fostering inclusivity within the wider community.”

South Asian Heritage Month in the UK was established in 2019 by the South Asian Heritage Month Steering Committee.

It says it aims to “foster greater awareness, understanding, and appreciation of South Asian cultures and histories, and to build bridges between communities through shared celebration and education.”
