Community Pharmacy England (CPE) is recruiting a pricing analyst to ensure NHS’s monitoring of drug and appliance purchase prices are accurate, and to check the reimbursement of prescription payments to community pharmacies.

The negotiator said the role is a key part of the pricing audit team and will help give pharmacy owners “confidence in the payment reimbursement processes they are subject to”.

The job requires the candidate to “quickly gain a detailed understanding of the drug tariff and pricing processes” and be “comfortable working with a KPI monitored job”.

Duties will alternate between margin survey auditing and prescription payment checking, including completing pricing audit checks and looking for “contractor and NHSBSA error trends”.

The job is a full-time hybrid role paying at £30,000 to £31,000 and applications close on September 14.

It comes after the government agreed "redetermined" May and June reimbursement prices for a number of products, which CPE said it “prevented community pharmacies from losing an estimated £80k to medicine price rises”.
