A Scottish independent pharmacy chain has renewed its sponsorship of a professional football team for the fifth year in a row, it announced this week (June 24).

The family-owned M&D Green is sponsoring three kinds of Queen’s Park’s match shirts and two goalkeeping jerseys for the 2025-26 season.

The pharmacy chain celebrated the announcement with a video that sees its new Pharmaself24 auto-dispensing medication machine give out one of the club’s third kit shirts to new striker Michael Ruth, who is returning to the club for his second spell.

M&D Green managing director Martin Green said the pharmacy has “enjoyed being in partnership with the club” for the last four years and looks forward to working “with them and their fan base again this season”.

“There are many parallels between our company and Queen’s Park, particularly in terms of how we build relationships together and with other parties for good,” he said.

Queen’s Park head of commercial Kieran Koszary said it was “fantastic” to have them back and help “launch our new black and gold kit”.

He added: “As established partners and an established pharmacy throughout Scotland we are delighted they are on board again and look forward to seeing their logo on the new kits in addition to their pitch side advertising boards at The City Stadium.”

The club announced that M&D Green will team up with them later this year for Prostate Awareness Day and winter flu awareness events.

Queen’s Park is based in Glasgow and play in the Scottish Championship, the second tier of Scottish football.

In March, M&D Green acquired nine community pharmacies to take its chain to a total of 42 pharmacies in Scotland.

It comes after football manager Nigel Clough urged fans to get pharmacy blood pressure checks amid a “stressful” end of season run-in.
