Irish football team Sligo Rovers is partnering with Horan’s pharmacy, it announced on July 4.

Located in Sligo’s Castle street, the pharmacy has been serving customers since 1953. It will now  supply the team with healthcare products to “support the health, recovery and wellbeing of the club’s players and staff throughout the season”.

The pharmacy said that the partnership “reflects Horan’s Pharmacy’s continued commitment to supporting local sport and the wider Sligo community”.

The Sligo Rovers play in the League of Ireland Premier Division, with the club owned co-operatively by the local community in Sligo.

Enda Horan from Horan’s pharmacy said “we are proud to become the official healthcare partner of Sligo Rovers FC” and that the collaboration “is a natural extension of our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to the people of Sligo”.

“High-quality healthcare”

“We look forward to developing a strong and lasting partnership with the club,” she added.

Commercial manager at Sligo Rovers Donagh Oates said the team was “delighted to welcome Horan’s Pharmacy as our Official Healthcare Partner”.

He emphasised that “access to high-quality healthcare products is an important part of supporting our players throughout the season” and that the Rovers “greatly appreciate the commitment shown by Enda and the team”.

It comes as Boots partnered last month with heroic England and Newcastle player Dan Burn, to raise awareness of the importance of sun protection for football fans.

As part of the Boots campaign, which is run alongside Macmillan Cancer Support, the defensive colossus  changed his social media handles to “Dan Won’t Burn”, to coincide with his participation in the 2026 World Cup.
