About Adrian Zacher

I’m CEO and a co-founder of The British Society of Pharmacy Sleep Services

We’re a group of sleep and pharmacy professionals, intending to plug the disconnect between the patient and sleep expertise.

The BSPSS is new. Founded in mid 2021. We’re a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (April 2022). We make evidence-based sleep help accessible in community pharmacy.

I am also founder of Snorer Pharmacy®

We offer a turnkey software solution for pharmacists looking to help snorers by screening and signposting them (free online training).

Perhaps the easiest way to describe me is a “Stop Snoring BS disruptor” or a sleep patient advocate.

Some great advice here for pharmacists (and their teams) when speaking with patients, with suspected sleep disorders.

Love the balloon analogy Jo!

"The Bedroom" on the C&D website is a fantastic, free CPD resource.

And in this podcast, Nana explores with Gareth Evans (President of the BSPSS) how he grew his weight management expertise into sleep patient assessment.

I love Gareth's analogy of the 'open part of the funnel' for patients.

And yes, Nana - sleep is mistakenly trivialised. It's seen as a social issue rather than a clinical issue. 'Fluffy' [LOL] when it is soooooo not!

"So much that you don't know - you don't know."

Sleep is essential for health. Sleep is one of the three pillars of health, along with nutrition and exercise.

As CEO of the BSPSS, I'm delighted to hear and see this superb resource freely available. I hope that it is consumed by EVERYONE in community pharmacy to transform the nation's sleep.

Give it a go!

My sincere thanks to @Nana Ofori-Atta for hosting an entertaining podcast and giving the British Society of Pharmacy Sleep Services the opportunity to raise the profile of sleep disorders.

This was an absolute blast! :)
