Boots has added reminders and stickers to 1,500 consultation rooms to support ITV’s ‘Lorraine’s Change + Check’ campaign. 

It aims to encourage women to make “self-checking a regular monthly habit”. 

With the campaign now in its seventh year, the aim of the new awareness day is to raise the “importance of proactive attitudes towards breast health” which will help with early detection to save lives.

Boots superintendent pharmacists Claire Nevinson said the campaign is “such a simple prompt for everyone to self-check and be aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer”. 

Boots said its pharmacists are “prepped and ready to answer customers' breast health questions”. 

It said it has over 2,200 trained Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists patients can speak to about cancer and concerns they may have.

Last month, Boots announced the launch of its own brand erectile dysfunction treatment, which it called a “UK pharmacy medicine first”. 

It also opened its first regional dispensing hub. 

Meanwhile, the Pharmacists’ Defence Association announced eligible Boots pharmacists will receive a 4% pay rise effective from November 1.
