‘We never stand still’: NI pharmacy celebrates 20 years by fundraising £4.5k for three charities
A Northern Ireland pharmacy has donated £4,524 to three local charities as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Corry’s Chemists presented the cheques yesterday to Air Ambulance NI, Alzheimer’s Society NI, and the Castlederg Patient Comfort & Terminally Ill Fund. Each received £1,508 each.

The fundraising came from the takings of the Castlederg branch, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in June. Its other two branches in Enniskillen and Gortin have been open for 17 years.

Corry’s Chemists told C+D it had been “incredibly blessed to have had 20 great years in business, and we wanted to give something back to the community that has supported us for so long”.
They chose the three charities as they are “all very worthy causes doing great work locally” and are “close to our hearts for many different reasons”.

On social media, the pharmacy said it was a “proud moment” handing the cheques over.

It added: “To our amazing staff: your hard work and dedication make days like this possible. To our friends, family, and community: thank you for 20 years of support — here’s to many more.”
Corry’s Chemists had hampers and a raffle on the anniversary for patients to win and hosted a make-up demonstration and Q&A with a beauty and fashion creator as part of the celebrations.

Across the last 20 years, the pharmacy told C+D it is “most proud” of “providing the best possible service we can to the communities we serve” and developing the pharmacy’s services to a wide range of private and NHS services.

“We never stand still and are always looking for ways to improve what we do. Most importantly, we want to make sure that our customers and patients remain at the centre of everything we do.”
It comes after locum pharmacist Shahid Akhtar has run 300km over Ramadan while he’s been fasting to raise money for the people of Palestine.
